Biologique Recherche Luxury Skincare Routine
If the word ‘budget’ is foreign to you and only care about results, I would steer you to a Biologique Recherche location and have a representative assess your skin and recommend products accordingly.
BR is a premium French line that’s uniquely effective. They’re fiercely protective of their brand and so their training for their reps and affiliate partners is excellent.
They use a machine along with the esthetician’s judgment to assess your skin’s hydration, barrier function, sebum and firmness. You could also raise specific concerns.
Their full line is extensive and they will present a lot of options. You may possibly end up with more than 4 steps.
I would start with the Lait U cleanser, Lotion p50 toner, Creme Iso-Placenta moisturizer and Masque Vivant. Those 4 products would cost over 300 USD. From these four products, I believe you will experience the best the brand has to offer. Of course, you will still need to add sunscreen to this routine.
I’d recommend to get a sunscreen separately from a Japanese or Korean brand. SPF is a category where luxury brands hold zero weight for me. Interestingly, I find the best SPF on the market are some of the more affordable ones too.
Anyway, back to BR, it’s worth noting that their formulation is unique and doesn’t pander to conventional expectations for beauty products when it comes to scent and texture. If you read about the P50 toner, people will say it’s rather stinky because of the vinegar and sulfur. Masque Vivant (which you would apply and then wash off, use 1-2x a week) looks and smells like Marmite or soy sauce.
Getting a facial from a BR affiliate spa would be the best way to experience the products and philosophy first hand. Consulting a BR rep would be the next best thing. Most of their partner retailers would probably be helpful over email or messaging in case you’re unable to go in person.
With skincare, there’s a standard caveat- YMMV. Your mileage may vary. And that would be applicable across any recommendation I would make.
That said, BR is a category-defining, life changing skincare brand. It set the standard of how I measure all other products’ results on my skin.
