Launching Sister as a Service

self-care advice from the elder millennial ate you never had

Ate” means older sister in Filipino. As the third of four girls, I have two ates and I’m Ate Sheila to my youngest sister.

Having sisters is the best! You have a sounding  board for all your decisions, whether they’re smol or life-changing ones.  You learn from your elders’ mistakes and pass on wisdom to your younger sibling. You’re comfortable being your most authentic self because you know you’re loved unconditionally.

I’ve befriended people who don’t have sisters or don’t have the best relationship with them. I joke with these friends that I should start a sister-as-a-service company for the advice and support that I lovingly provide.

I’m taking inspiration from that with the name of my blog/newsletter. It’s a play on SaaS, software as a service. A nod to my past life as a tech entrepreneur.

With Sister as a Service, I hope to share my takes on wellness, personal development and spirituality. I’m not a qualified expert in any of these. I just want to share what worked for me so you have a reference point for your own journey of self-discovery and positive transformation.

Initially, I’ll focus on two themes:

  1. Set a radically honest perspective on life

  2. Build your routines and habits for skincare, fitness, nutrition

The first is more macro and philosophical. The second is micro and practical. Hopefully the two themes would give a fine balance between depth and aesthetics.
